I used to think that Asian women were very kind and gentle, but after I came to Taiwan, I found out that I was wrong. Taiwanese women say they want men and women to be equal but they still expect their boyfriends to pay for everything when they go out. Taiwanese girls have one big problem: they have no butt! Most of the girls here only care about their breasts, but not having a nice butt is really terrible. Taiwanese girls don’t seem to worry at all about what their butts look like. They just let them stay flat and start sagging. Sometimes they even wear pants or skirts that show just how bad their butts look, without even realizing it. Even though your butt is in the back so you don’t see it much yourself, please don’t forget about what it looks like to other people!

Wow…that’s a lot of questions…!! I happened to pass by your blog when I was searching about Taiwanese guys/men. Not sure if this is going to be of any help (ex. hw, survey) but I’m going to go ahead and answer most of them briefly.

It really depends…since it seems that you’re focusing more on this happening in Taiwan, I would say that most Taiwanese girls/guys would date foreigners out of curiosity, assuming that they rarely travel outside of the country. Curiosity may lead to any of the choices you listed above. You would say that foreigners, the minority, in Taiwan are scumbags but if the situation is reversed, it could be the same that Taiwanese aren’t so good either.
2 Taiwanese women are too…

I don’t believe that there’s any specific trait that can sum up the whole female population in Taiwan excluding foreigners. It all depends on the person.

lol…you know what, I agree with you to some degree on this one. Somehow, some Asian women think they can have their way with boyfriends or guys who are pursuing them. My mom specifically tells me not to trouble guys and go dutch when I go on dates. Even though the Asian women you met are like that, not every Asian woman is like what you described. Telling a guy what to do and expecting them to pay isn’t equality at all. Keep your eyes open, I’m sure you’ll find one who is independent and really wants equality between women and men.

Very stereotypical. It seems that most girls like flat butts though. It’s nice to know that someone actually thinks having a butt is good! Although I’m a Taiwanese, I still don’t understand why having a larger butt is undesirable here… I agree that Most Taiwanese women focus more on their breasts than butts.

I wouldn’t think that a foreigner has to speak Mandarin well in order to be in Taiwan. That’s discriminatory and foreigners can get by with a couple Mandarin words/phrases. NO. You don’t have to teach them English. No offense to any woman you met in Taiwan who does this but I think they’re using you.

Wow…I would never think that a guy saying “I love you” is a sign of a soon-to-be marriage. It could be that since Taiwanese guys are more shy and 悶燒 (keep emotions to themselves) that to hear I love you from a guy hardly ever happens for Taiwanese women. And when they do, perhaps, that’s when Taiwanese guys is thinking about having a future with Taiwanese women.

I think all girls spend a lot of time shopping, not just Taiwanese women. Narcissists…I’m not so sure. If you mean taking a lot of 自拍, then yes.
I SO SO SO agree with you that Taiwanese girls are too skinny. Some of them are so thin that they seem ill. It’s part of the culture to be slim, I suppose. I was like that before, but I got over it when I was in college in the U.S. When I look back at my photos, I realized how unhealthy I looked.

HAHAHA!! I’m a virgin so I really don’t know what you’re talking about. It sounds rather funny though. I hear that if a girl is a virgin, they usually don’t move much or make noises. It’s normal that most Taiwanese women don’t know much about sex. Taiwanese culture is considered conservative, even though we’re influenced by Western culture(s) gradually.

Just to clarify, those quotes are not mine. This post (as well as nearly all the others on the blog) are just handouts I use in my English course.
This particular post was translated from an article in a Taiwanese magazine (壹週刊). The opinions (and quotes) are those of six different foreigners who were interviewed for the article.
